Aim of the Anniversary Celebration
The aim of the Anniversary celebration is to acknowledge and recognize the achievements, positive moments, and milestones of 45 years of our lives since we enlisted into the British Army and celebrate it together in Pokhara, Nepal with.
Aim of this update
Our aim of this update is to provide all necessary information to all numberiharu about the 45th Anniversary Celebration of Intake 2/1981 to be held on 21 February 2026 in Nepal so all those numberiharu who are intending will have sufficient time to make their necessary contribution and preparation to join this historical event in Pokhara, Nepal.

Detailed tasks of Working Group
Khusi– Overall Coord. Negotiating and confirming the Hotel bookings,organise the main event and with travel agents for the trip to Lumbini and Chitwan.
Sovit– Liaising and confirming the visit to Gurkha Museum and BGP and negotiating with travel agents for the visit to Muktinath and ABC trek.
Ramlal– Collecting attendance/funding including their preferred trips/dietary requirements.
Mahendra– Liaising with UK/Nepal Numberiharu and to assist Ramlal
Trilok – Liaising with HK/Overseas Numberiharu and to assist Ramlal
All are expected to assist the overall coord on the Anniversary day.

01 Apr – 30 Sep 25 – Payment transferred/Details received
31 Oct 25 – Final confirmation of attendance.

Trip to Muktinath (2 Ni/3 Days) – Sovit/Travel agent
Visit to Lumbini and Chitwan via Bhairahawa (3 Ni/4 Days) – Khusi/Travel agent
ABC Trek (4 Ni/5 Days) – Sovit/Travel agent
Key planning consideration
Attendance:
– All numberies those who have given their names, their spouses, and children only or (Col JP Cross MC – DRO BGP 1981 for intial part of the celebration).
– Last minutes addition and cancellation may be accepted but extra cost will be added.
Funding: This is a self-funded event.
– Funding support from Association to be used for guests and miscellaneous expenses. – £5k has set aside by the ECM.
– Individuals funding – To be paid into Association or Working.
Committee account between 01 Apr – 30 Sep 25.
–Cancellation by individuals after 31 Oct 25 will have an extra charge of (50% of accom only) or identify a replacement by themselves.
– Payments can be made both in the UK and Nepal bank by individuals.
Few important points to note:
1. Private guests on Anniversary are either parents or children only (Rs.9000 per head).
2. Momento on behalf of Intake 2/81– To the Main Guest Col JP Cross- TBC
3. Dress: Ladies- Sari with Intake 2/81 broaches Gents- Suite or jacket with Intake 2/81 tie.
4. Anyone requiring hotel Accom before 20 Feb 2026 are to notify the working work- Separate cost will involve.
5. Nationality – All are expected to hold NPP otherwise higher fare/permitswill be required.
6. Charity /donations to Gurkha Museum and GWT will be organised by ECM and the ladies of Intake 2/81.
7. Independent visits may be organised by the groups or individual.
Anniversary Celebration Venues – Hotel Barahi, Lakeside, Pokhara
Programme– Phase One ( Fri 20 – Mon 23 Feb 2026)
Fri 20 Feb – All arrive in Hotel Barahi Lakeside by 1600 hrs – Brief and “Evening meal provided”.
Sat 21 Feb – Main final Prep/Celebration day (1400 – 2359 hrs) – “Special food menu and drinks provided”.
Sun 22 Feb – Visit/Brief Gurkha Museum and British Camp Pokhara – “Transport/Lunch provided – at 3 different hotels”- PM FREE
Mon 23 Feb – after “Breakfast provided” Disperse (Optional) or join phase 2.
Phase One –Est Cost
Total Est Cost – Rs 60,000 per couple. Single staying in the hotel – Rs 45,000 each.
• Hotel Accommodation 3 nights – Min Rs.30,000
• Special Anniversary party food/drinks – Rs.8K each= Rs.16,000
• 1 x Evening meal@2200, Transport/Lunch@3200 and 1 x Breakfast@1600 – Rs.7k each= Rs.14,000
Note –
❖Those individual not staying in the hotel will pay Rs 15,000 per head only.
❖Private guests will be paying for the Anniversary celebration Rs 9,000 per head.

Hotel Accom and dinner for 25 Feb 2026 in Pokhra incl breakfast on following morning – Est Cost is Rs.15,000 per person
